The next full moonshine run falls on November 24 (a Saturday!), under the luminance of Beaver Moon because this was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs.
Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter. That certainly makes us busy beaver runners as we’re also preparing for winter runs (still holding out hope for a snowy full moon run this witer).
It is sometimes also referred to as the Frosty Moon. (source: Old Farmer’s Almanac.com)
Meetup is at 7:45pm from Osborn Soccer Park south of Nolensville for a 8pm start. This month we’ll enjoy the weekend route covering 6.0 miles of easy pace conversation for runners of all paces under the original running light. Course is an out-and-back, so runners are welcome to choose their own distance.
Wear your reflective gear and a head lamp (only illuminated for the rare vehicle on this country road) under this month’s full moon light.
Who’s in, ye luna-tics? Bring your friends; bring your dog.
Feel free to share with your running club and buddies. Full moonshine running is a must-experience experience.
Rain date is Sunday, November 25. Same time; same place.
